We are pleased to invite you to join the next in our series of webinars:
Towards an inclusive, accessible and sustainable post COVID-19 World
Monday 29th November 2021 at 1300 UK (1300GMT)
Virtus is proud to support the annual United Nations International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD).
This year’s theme is ‘Fighting for rights in the post-COVID era.’
The theme is especially relevant to the impacts seen and felt by the Virtus community. It not only highlights the challenges, barriers and opportunities for people who live with disabilities, it speaks about how sport for athletes with intellectual impairment – our core business – has been seriously challenged in the context of the global pandemic.
In this webinar, you will hear from Dr. Debbie Van Biesen, Virtus Academy Manager who will present:
– A round up of the six months since launching Virtus Academy.
– Results of the first Virtus Academy research project on how Virtus members are affected by the pandemic in terms of funding and competitive opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
We are also proud to preview the first in a series of new online training courses supporting member organisations, stakeholders, officials, athletes, coaches and volunteers in their roles.
Attendees should register in advance here, and please forward this invitation to your network/coaches/support staff.
We look forward to seeing you on 29th November.
